Treasure In The Heart

Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth the good. And an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth the evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

What kind of heart do we have? Is it full of a good treasure or an evil treasure? Jesus tells us that whatever is in our heart comes out of our mouth. Have you had evil treasures in your heart? Are they still in there?

I am so ashamed of the way I use to talk about and/or laugh at other people and tell jokes that were not very nice, my heart had not even seen a good treasure. It was full of evil and ached because I had said and done so many evil things during my life. I definitely was a wicked, evil sinner.

But God is so gracious and He forgave me through Jesus Christ who gave me a “good scrubbing” in His blood and took all of that evil away. My heart is full of good treasures now because God put them there. I praise His name and want to share all that which He has so freely given me. What is in your heart? Do you need a good scrubbing too? Jesus can do it – just ask Him!

Father, We come to You this day, humbly asking You to continue to fill our hearts with Your good treasures and to forgive any further evil that slips in as we live in this wicked world. We pray for our brothers and sisters to make their decisions for Christ and the quick coming of Your Kingdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen
